Beam: The width of the boat.

Ketch: A two masted ship with the helm aft{behind} both masts.

Draft: The feet in which the boat has from waterline to bottom of keel.

Keel: The object that keep the boat stable buy counter weighting the force of the wind on the sails.

Flake the line: to arrange the line so that it will go out easy when the anchor goes down.

Freeboard: the length from the waterline to the deck.

Deck: The floor on the top of the boat.

Stays: The wires that hold up the masts and rigging.

Luggernaught: To carry heavy objects across a far distance.

Helm: The steering wheel.
